Electric Operations Modeling

Slater Consulting has extensive experience in the development and application of the detailed, short-term models used to operate electric systems. Mr. Slater designed and built the first computerized generation scheduling model used by Ontario Hydro. OH used this model for over twenty years to schedule the hour-by-hour operation of its generation resources. He also designed a later model, used elsewhere in Canada.

Biases in these models can sometimes result in an unfair dispatch of certain generators. Slater Consulting provides assistance in the evaluation of such models and the model inputs to ensure equitable treatment of all generators.
